Agoria – Blossom (2003)

French DJ Sebastien Devaud made his name last year with his La Onzième March EP – a Detroit techno anthem delivering soul as well as adrenaline, and a key track for DJs like Laurent Garnier and Andrew Weatherall. On his debut album, Blossom, he tries a number of variations on the theme and the results are promising. From the crisp tech-funk of Think Different and Kofea, to Presque Un Ange’s violin-tinged melancholy and the deep smoothness of Haiku, his classy, widescreen sound shines through. bbc
